Arthur P. Williams

Arthur was raised in Sampson County, NC, and in 1957, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the Marines after serving at home and abroad, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He loved riding motorcycles, eating oysters, and serving others. Arthur cherished spending time with his wife, Pat. They were married 63 years. He loved the Lord, and now his faith has become sight.

Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, William and Cropsy Williams of Autryville, NC, a brother, Lambert Williams, and three sisters, Bonnie Hairr, Brownie Jackson, and Annie Laura McLamb, all of Sampson County, NC.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Patricia; a son, Douglas Williams of Dunn, NC and his wife Wendy; a daughter, Jeanine Wood of Wilmington, NC and her husband, Steve. He has three granddaughters, Allison Huhmann and her husband, Troy, of Haslett, Texas, April Crumpler and her husband, Garry, of Godwin, NC, and Ashley Spurdens and her husband, Alexander, of Wilmington, NC. He also has three great-grandchildren, Blake and Charleigh Huhmann, and Rhiannon Crumpler. Mr. Williams is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3pm, Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd., Wilmington.
