Benjamin "Benny" Reed Smith, Jr., 67, of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Davis Health Care Center. He was born on July 22, 1946, in Mullins, SC, son of the late Benjamin Reed Smith, Sr. and Mary Vipperman Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Carol Kimble Smith in 2009. Surviving is his daughter, Robin Johnson and fiancé Scott Szczech; two sons, Wayne Smith and wife Meg, Benji Smith and wife Beth; six grandchildren; a sister, Jayne Brogdon and husband Steve; mother-in-law, Eleanor Kimble Barefoot and husband Wilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Andrews Mortuary.
