Carole Stapleton Rhodes passed away peacefully on Thursday February 17, 2011, at home in Wilmington, NC. Carole was a New Yorker. With bachelor's and master's degrees in health administration, her career included the positions of Chief Planning Officer at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, and Chief Planning Officer and Chief Operating Officer at the University Hospital in Newark, NJ. She and her husband John retired to the Landfall community in 2004. Carole's many interests included the arts, interior design, antiques, the beach, and, above all, her family and friends. Carole is survived by her husband John, her five children and five grandchildren. A private memorial service will take place at Andrews Mortuary.
