Carolyn Craig Congleton

Carolyn Ray Craig Congleton, 87, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 7, 1926, daughter of the late James Benjamin Craig and Carrie Dean Horne Craig. Mrs. Congleton was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Moose Club and an officer of the BPO Does #39 and VFW Auxiliary. Surviving is her husband of 70 years, Marvin Howard Congleton; three sons, Carroll Dean Congleton, Marvin Howard Congleton II, and Thomas Ray Congleton and wife Julie, and Mary Bland Congleton, all of Wilmington; also grandchildren Michael, Stephanie, Mason, and Emma Congleton. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kelly Congleton, and sisters, Madeline Craig Smith, Lennie Dean Hines and Hazel Horne, and a brother, James Horne Craig. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, with the Rev. Joey Canady officiating. Interment will follow in Horne Family Cemetery on Antoinette Drive, off of Carolina Beach Road. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
