

He was born October 9,1934 in Huntingdon, PA, son of the late Joseph Brown and Sarah Weidner Brown.
Clair moved to Florida as a young man and lived in Sarasota FL through 2010. He worked for Sun Hydraulics in Sarasota and retired in 2005. He moved to Martinsburg, WV in 2010 and lived there until 2020 when he moved to Wilmington, NC.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger days. Clair enjoyed watching sports, playing billiards, walking, and nature, as he got older. He recently became a member of the Senior Resource Center and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Clair is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruth Burke Brown; brother, George Brown of Bedford, PA; daughters, Deborah Van der Hoven and Pamela Douglas, both of Sarasota, FL; and grandson, Christopher Douglas. He is also survived by his stepchildren, daughters, Diane Tomasky of Brunswick, MD and Carol Plautz (Jeff) of Carolina Beach, NC; three grandchildren, Bernard Tomasky, Alexandra Flynn and Emily Tomasky; and three great-grandchildren, Liam, Arlo and Zoe Clair Flynn.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. John McGee, O.S.F.S. officiating.
