

She was born in Greensboro, NC on January 6, 1931 to the late Matthew Borden Munford and Lola Delilah Luffman Munford.
Clara loved varied artistic styles and mediums and was herself an accomplished extraordinary artist and painter of commissioned works, accomplished ballroom dancer, model, published cook and world traveler with her husband, Walter Bishop, and was a bridge player extraordinaire. She worked as an administrative assistant at doctors’ offices in various medical fields in New York State, North Carolina Legislative, IBM and IBM World Trade Center, wife, mother, loving grandmother, loyal friend and neighbor.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Allen Bishop and sister, Juanita Munford Hamby.
She is survived by two children, David Allen Bishop and Seanne Bishop Harmon and grandchildren, Aleece Clara Harmon, Tristan Bishop Harmon and Trent Bedford Harmon.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Chapel, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403. Inurnment to follow at Sea Lawn Memorial Park, 17750 US-17, Hampstead, NC 28443.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) or an Alzheimer’s organization of your choice.
