Clark was a loving husband to Bonnie Flynn Kiger for 38 years and a wonderful father to Clark III and MacKenzie. He was lucky enough to gain a daughter-in-law, Carrie Oxendine Kiger, and a son-in-law, Austin Lee Morton. Clark's friends were many from Rural Hall to Winston-Salem to Surf City. Clark enjoyed life and never met a stranger. He took care of his family, friends, and in the last couple years of working, a caregiver to many clients of Always Good Company in Wilmington, NC. He enjoyed looking after others beginning as a teenager taking care of his mother and spent his life devoted to his wife and children. Clark enjoyed spending time with the family whether at Ocean Lakes, tailgating at WFU and NC State, or spending time at the beach in Surf City.
He was called home on February 16, 2021. Clark was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in 2008 and fought a courageous battle with the disease.
His life was a blessing. His memory is a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mitchell E. Horwitz and the nurses at Duke Adult Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinic for their valiant efforts with a first and second transplant. In addition, we are most appreciative of Dr. Susan Hines in Winston-Salem and Dr. Harry Erba in Durham for their support in the stages of Clark's disease. The family also expresses our gratitude to all who donated to Clark's medical fund on www.gofundme.com. Clark was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Virginia Boger Flynn.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at River Birch Lodge located at 3324 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem from 2 to 4 PM.
