We were Christian bothers at St. Marks and we  Ushered  the 09:00 mass for about 10 years. David would always greet me with a big hug and big smiles for everyone he spoke too.  He was always able to remember everyone's name including the children that came through the door. He was a very up beat person, he never complained or talked about negative topics. My regrets , were I was always to busy after church to become a closer personal friend to David. To this day I still think about David at Mass. 

Our condolences to you and your family. The "poker gang " from El Paso  will surely miss him.

We knew Dave from St. Marks.  He was an upbeat, friendly guy.  He  knew everyone's name and had a smile for everyone he met.  Dave was the kind of person who was always ready to lend a helping hand.   Years ago he was a substitute teacher at Laney High School and he recognized our daughter at Mass.  She also thought a lot of him.  Dave will be greatly  missed by all who knew him.

I knew Dave from Wilmington Singles and St. Mark Catholic Church as Knights and Columbiettes worked together.  My heartfelt sympathy to his family.  Another angel to watch over us.
Think of stepping on the shore
And finding it Heaven!
Of taking hold of a hand
and finding it God's hand,
Of breathing a new air
and finding it celestial air.
Of feeling invigorated
And finding it immortality,
Of passing from storm and tempest
To an Unknown calm,
Of waking and finding it Home!


It was so nice to see Dave at our 50 th class reunion last July. Always a smile, always a gentleman. Our sympathy to the family.

Sorry to here for your loss and prayers to his family. Went to school with David in Killdeer ND he was such a gentleman and well lines by all. 

Dave brought Mary and Rick's son Daniel who had been visiting him, to our house in WV to meet up with Mary and Rick who were coming to visit us. We had not met him before. He was charming and warm, interesting and fun. I always remember him so fondly.  It saddens me that his life was cut short here. Now he's gone on to live again in heaven. Our deepest condolences to the family, and to our friends Mary and Rick.  May God comfort you all with His blessed peace. 

Awww...this saddens my heart!   David was a gentleman like no other!! We all knew this day would come, as it will for each one of us, all the more reason to have our souls prepared for eternity. Nothing but the blood of Jesus will allow us to spend forever in heaven. By faith we believe & put our trust in our Savior Jesus.  To know that you know, your heaven bound, is a great reward! David fought the fight! He won the race! I can look forward to seeing him in heaven! To all his family... sending my love, & prayers.

Major Fedora was a good man. Enjoyed getting to know him. Was glad we were able to go see him in hospital when he knew who we are. My daughter enjoyed having him as a JROTC Instructor. God bless his family and praying for you all

He was a good teacher I had him in jrotc at east duplin.he was very nice and always would say good morning or good afternoon when we would enter his class.

Dave and I were co workers for 8 years in the JROTC Program at East Duplin HS.  He loved children, and he was a blessing to work with. Always came in with a smile, on his birthdays I'd buy him a balloon with a smiley face, and a Dr Pepper! We took many field trips together with the students, they looked at us many times as their mom/dad because for some we were.  One of my favorite memories or funny memories of him was when he was playing a newly learned game called gator ball, he tricked the students into throwing him the ball (he was on the opposite team), he laughed so hard!  Not only did we work together, we were good friends; at the end of his life, he said I had made it to his refrigerator door along with his family (an honor, and I knew he was sincere).  One of my last visits with him myself and a fellow pastor visited with him, and we asked him if he would accept Jesus as the Lord of his life, and he said "Yes"   That was the best visit!  I am at peace now knowing that's where he is, with the Lord of the Universe, Jesus!
