Diane L. Turner,72, of Wilmington and formerly of Fairfax, Virginia, died November 18, 2013 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. Diane was born on December 11, 1940 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to Dorothy B. Zell and the late Colonel Quentin L. Zell. She is survived by her husband, Mike Turner; three children, Kim Rooney (Mike), David Turner (Laura), and Krista Turner; grandchildren, who all fondly knew her as "Nana": Andrew Rooney, Brian Rooney, Quentin Turner, Andrew Turner, Elena Turner, Trey Eller, and Brice Eller; brothers, Tom Zell, John Zell, Jim Zell and Greg Zell and many nieces and nephews. She worked for many years for George Mason Law School as director of finance and then George Mason University as assistant to the Provost before retiring in 2002, at which time she moved to Wilmington. Until recently she worked part-time for the NHC department of Aging at the Senior Center Assisting with Medicare enrollment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. Family will host a celebration of life for Diane at a date to be determined.
