

Don served as SSGT in the Air National Guard. He loved to fly, ride his bike, sing, and was an avid deep sea fisherman. Don was homeschooled by his mother and grandmother whom he affectionately called “Coma”. He had many close friends and enjoyed playing tennis with them.
He and Valerie were married June 6, 1993 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mahopac, NY. Don was a member of the Promise Keepers of the Church of the Nazarene. He adopted and loved many dogs including Chinook, Cassie, and Wuzzy. The late Father Ted Hesperg, former Chancellor of Notre Dame University was a cousin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Valerie Roberts and stepson Peter Bimonte. The family wishes to thank all who cared for Don over the years.
All are welcome to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 22nd, at 11am-12pm at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC 28403 followed by a mass at 12pm.
Born February 27, 1938 to Adelaide and Donald Richard Roberts. He passed away peacefully on August 12, 2023.
