Born on February 02, 1929 in Davidson, NC. Donald was the son of David and Gladys Snider. He is survived by two children, D. Gregory Snider (Patricia Snider) and Teresa Shank (Ricke Shank), residing in Frederick, Maryland. He has four grandchildren: Kristen Snider (Mathew Palen), Michael Snider, Jennifer Whipp (Joe Whipp) and Jacob Shank as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Donald served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was an electrician and specialized in Satellite Communications. He worked for Harris Corp. for 20 years as a satellite communications contractor tracking rockets and on the Moscow/United States Hot Line, DCL. He enjoyed reading, traveling, skiing and gardening. He and his wife retired in 1985 to Wilmington, NC and lived there for 40 years.
Memorial services for Donald will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charitable organization of the donor’s choosing.
