Elizabeth Tyler Cox

APRIL 8, 1983 – JUNE 10, 2024

Elizabeth Cox, 41, passed away at home on Monday, June 10, 2024 following a courageous battle against metastatic breast cancer. She was such a strong spirit and ray of sunshine that burned so brightly from the start; we should have known she would burn out much sooner than we were ready to let her go.

She is survived by her parents and sister, Rick, Connie, and Jennifer; all of Wilmington.

We wish to thank all of those who were instrumental in helping Elizabeth navigate this difficult path over the past 3 years.

Medical-Dr P and her team at the Zimmer Center, especially Miss Pat, were there from the beginning, providing professional guidance and loving support. Dr B performed 2 critical brain surgeries in a period of nine days that allowed us to share the joy that was Elizabeth for another year. Dr A and Morgan did everything in their power to hold the advancing threat to her body at bay, again providing us with additional time.

Family-Aunts, uncles, cousins and an abundance of extended family. You were a daily source of comfort and strength.

Friends-You guys were there for her when it mattered most, and we are forever grateful. Special love to Riko, Nicola, Dan, Lizzie, Joseph and Kim.

Her Work Team at SECU-We often spoke about how fortunate she was to have a boss and coworkers who cared so deeply and who were always looking for ways to ease her path.

Elizabeth Cox Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Saturday, August 10th at Halyburton Park Events Center, 4099 17th Street, Wilmington, NC 28412.
