Elizabeth Shepard Lane

Her children rise up, and call her beloved Proverbs 31:28, Elizabeth Shepard Lane, 88, of Carolina Beach, NC, went to live with her heavenly Father Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center. She was born on June 10, 1919, in Wilmington, NC, the daughter of the late Perry Hyden Shepard, Sr. and Nora Lee Justice Shepard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Leroy Lane, and two brothers, Perry Hyden Shepard, Jr. and Carl Justice Shepard. Mrs. Lane was a member of Castle Hayne Advent Christian Church. Her life centered on her family. She enjoyed all crafts, especially sewing and crocheting. Her family and friends will remember her for her love and devotion to them. Surviving are three daughters, Shelby Best, Cheryl Tate Bill, and Nancy Lombardo Tony; one son, Mark Lane Lorenda; five grandchildren, William Cory Tate Judy, Tiffany Tate Porter fiancé Terry, Megan Lombardo, Amanda Lane, and Chris Lane; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Francis Brossett and Dixie Pitt Don; and her beloved Chiwawa, ""Buffy Lane"", and Cockatoo, ""Tara"". A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 26, 2008 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel by Rev. Mark Tippett and Rev. Randall Smith. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
