Eloise Stewart Thompson of Wilmington, formerly of Greenville, NC, died Friday, July 7, 2017, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter after a brief illness. Born June 15, 1923 in Laurinburg, NC, she was the daughter of Angus McLean Stewart and Emma Lee McMillan Stewart Myers. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-one years, John Gilbert Thompson.
She is survived by daughters Nancy Thompson Efird and husband Thomas Edmond Efird, Patricia Thompson Hoban and husband William David Hoban, and son John Charles Thompson and wife Carolyn Brown Thompson. Surviving also are her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will take place at Caledonia United Methodist Church in Laurinburg, NC at 11:00am Tuesday, July 11, 2017.
