Emma Bell Jackson Shipman

She was born in Lamar, SC on December 19, 1935, the daughter of the late James Charles and Essie Kershaw Huggins Jackson. Also remembered is her husband, William Byron Shipman, Sr.; her son, William Byron Shipman, Jr; and her brother, Charles Jackson, all of who preceded her in death.

Surviving is her daughter, Faye Shipman Byrd of Wilmington; two sons, Robert Eugene Shipman of Wilmington, and Michael Harry Shipman and wife Cathy of Castle Hayne, NC; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Emma also worked as a nursing assistant at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and after retirement continued as a volunteer. She also enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. Emma was a devoted member of Sunset Park Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Andrews Mortuary Market Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am Thursday prior to the service at Andrews Mortuary.
