Gary Michael Ashline

August 5, 1958 – February 16, 2012

Gary Michael Ashline, 53, of Wilmington, NC entered into rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday morning surrounded by his family as he passed.

Gary was born to Donald Bernard Ashline and Ann Rae Bellows Ashline on August 5, 1958 in Saint Albans, VT and raised there until his family moved to Wilmington, NC in1974.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Donald (1998) and Ann (2005).

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to many in the community. He was a faithful member of Glad Tidings Community Church. He was employed by Carolina Marine Terminal since 2005, as well as being a volunteer fireman for the past 16 years in his community.

Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane Ashline; three sons, Chad and his wife Beth Ashline, Brad and his wife Kelly Ashline, and Greg and his wife Courtney Ashline; daughter, Noel Ashline all of Wilmington; three brothers, James Ashline, Brian and his wife Pat Ashline, and Kevin and his wife Diane Ashline as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He leaves a legacy for his eight grandchildren, Leah, Kiah, Landon, Haley, Josiah, Logan, Tallie and Bradley.

Visitation will be held on Monday February 20, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Coble Ward – Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive Wilmington, NC 28403.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday February 21, 2012 at 11:00am at the Coble Ward – Smith Funeral Home with Henry Carroll as Minster of service and Kyle Gaskill and Jerry Rhodes providing special music.

Graveside service will follow at Geenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd Wilmington, NC 28412.

Pallbearers will be Joe Alaimo, Keith Brock, Jeff Foss, Brian Donato, Lee Piver, Steve Goodbody and honorary pallbearer, Kiah Ashline.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive Wilmington, NC 28401, hospiceandlifecarecenter.org.
