

He was born in Morgantown, WV on July 8, 1954, son of the late Paul and JoAnne Laskody. Skip graduated from Morgantown High School in 1973 and studied at various culinary schools.
Skip was the executive chef at different well known restaurants in Morgantown, WV. He was best known for "Jorgie's" Chocolates especially his truffles, "Chef Skip's Spices", and his cookbook - "Chef Skip's Cape Fear Cookery". He volunteered and organized cooking events throughout Wilmington, such as, local Farmer's Markets and the Wilmington Wine and Chocolate Festival. He also hosted a cooking segment on WECT TV in Wilmington, NC. He was most proud of his family and his children were his pride and joy.
Skip is survived by his children, George "Skip" Jr., Samantha Joy and Michelle Nicole Nuce. Skip is also survived by his sisters, Stephanie Stovash (Ron) and Susan Sullivan; brothers Paul Jr. (Debbie) and Andrew (Tracey); nieces and nephews Paul III, Chad, Jessica, Trevor, Rachel and Emily, and great niece Kaylie, all from Morgantown, WV; and his four legged best friend "Lilly". He will be greatly missed by many acquaintances and friends that he gained over the many years that Skip shared his love.
Family and friends will be received at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home (910-791-4444) - 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Sunday, September 13 12:00pm - 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
