Georgia B Poole

Georgia Badgett Poole, 88, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on March 13, 2025. She was born in Surry County, North Carolina on March 12, 1937 to Glenn Derice Badgett and Julia Beamer Badgett.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Craig Irvin Poole and brother Herman G. Badgett.

Georgia graduated from Dobson High School in Dobson, NC and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Flora McDonald College in Red Springs, NC. She pursued her teaching career in North Carolina Public Schools and specifically taught Home Economics at John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC. Following her retirement, Georgia found fulfillment in the cosmetic industry as a Mary Kay Consultant. Georgia was deeply devoted to her family and had a strong passion for homemaking, which included tending to her beautiful yard. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Onyx.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Irvin Poole and 3 sisters: Johnnie Coggins of Burlington, NC, Marilyn Freeman of Asheville, NC and Diane Snow of Dobson, NC. She has 1 brother, Sam Badgett of Dobson, NC.

Georgia’s family would like to express how grateful we are to Eddie and Wendy Exley for the time and loving care which made a huge difference in Georgia’s life.
