Hazel W. Johnston

Hazel was born on February 4, 1922 in Columbus County, NC, daughter of the late Frazier and Hattie Ward. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Marshel Nobles and 2nd husband, Frank Johnston,

Hazel was an Avon Lady for over 25 years and a member of Porter’s Swamp Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo, NC. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves.

Hazel is survived by her children: Rebecca Green, Marshall Ray Nobles( Patricia), Gale Piver, Frankie Scott(Billy), Mitchell Nobles(Jellie), Harry Nobles(Cathy) , Larry Nobles(Mary Sue) and Cherry Godwin; brother, Howard Ward(Jeanette); 29 Grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 12pm to 2pm on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.

Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Monday, August, 3, 2015 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Tim Moore officiating.

Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28412.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Porter’s Swamp Baptist Church, 8975 Andrew Jackson Hwy SW, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430.
