James Conner Bullard

James Conner Bullard J.C. of Wilmington went to be with his Lord on July 18, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born August 25, 1922 in Sampson County, N.C. son of the late Leslie Bullard and Blannie Smith Bullard and was preceded in death by his daughter Carolyn and son in law Gene Jarman, sister Bertha Barnhill and brothers Jessie and Herman Bullard. Surviving is his devoted wife for sixty-two years, Eva Roberts Bullard of the home. Three sons Ronald Bullard and wife Ann of Castle Hayne, Darryl Bullard and wife Rose of Sneads Ferry, Jamie Bullard and wife Amanda of Burgaw, three daughters Nina Emory and husband Wain of Florence, SC, Janice Bullard of Wilmington, and Cindy Ladner and husband Steve of Wilmington, one brother Renise Bullard of Ivanhoe. Grandchildren Mickey and Steven Ross, Lynn Woelfel, Daneille Cooke, Janine James, Keith Bullard, Britt Jacobs, Daniel Bullard and eight great grandchildren. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served his country in World War II from 1942 to 1947. Member of American Legion Post 165 of Burgaw. He has been an avid member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church for twenty-five years where he has served as a Deacon and Usher. He loved his church and his church family. J.C. was in business for himself for twenty years in recreation, service stations and restaurants, in which he retired from. He will be remembered graciously for the many lives that he has touched over the years and for the love that he has for his family and friends and their love for him. A funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, July 21, 2008 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel 4108 South College Rd. Wilmington by Rev. Keith Hollar and Rev. Mike Lewis of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. The family will receive friends form 5pm to 7pm Sunday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel and at other times at the home 4604 Song Sparrow Court. Pallbearers will be Bill Johnson, Jimmy Brown, David Seeger, Jack Wrenn, Bruce Henderson and Calvin Miller.
