He was born March 6, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio to Gordon and Charlotte Mott who have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Mott, 4 children: Robert Mott (Tracy), William Mott (Laura), Jane Carrington (Teddy), and Jim Mott (Kim), 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for James will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Whispering Pines Baptist Church, 6547 Carolina Beach Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
