Jane Lyons McCorkle

Jane Lyons McCorkle of Wilmington, NC died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Autumn Care. She was born in Elizabeth, Louisiana on April 1, 1919. Mrs. McCorkle was a graduate of the Presbyterian School of Nursing, Charlotte, NC, and a member of St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was an honorary life member awarded by the Presbyterian Women of the Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John L. McCorkle who died in 1993. Surviving are three sons, John H. McCorkle of Thomasville, NC, Robert W. McCorkle and wife Norma, and James L. McCorkle of Wilmington, NC; eight grandchildren, John H. McCorkle, Jr., Jane M. Elmore, Dr. Elizabeth J. McCorkle, Scott Andrew McCorkle, Susan M. Boyd, Angie M. Harris, James Chadwick McCorkle, and Allison P. McCorkle; four great-grandchildren, Lindsay Jane Elmore, Sarah Katherine Elmore, Anderson Wade Boyd, and Lane Elizabeth McCorkle. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Monday, March 30, 2009 at St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church. Private interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
