After retiring from Western Electric in Winston Salem, she moved to Wilmington to be near her children. She was a “Light of Love” to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband R.J. Holder, Jr.; daughter Carol Holder Tayloe; son, Robert Michael Holder; brothers: Granville Cheek and Bryant Cheek; step-granddaughter, Wendy Tayloe; step-great grandson, Jason Tayloe; and son-in-law, Bill Tayloe.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Holder Tayloe, sister, Golda Davis Canter, grandchildren: Chip Tayloe and wife Eileen, Wes Holder and partner Katy and Thom Tayloe and wife Tiffany; great- grandchildren: Carolyn Tayloe, Odell Tayloe and Johanna Tayloe; daughter-in-law, Pamela B. Holder, son-in-law Edward F. Tayloe; nephew, Ronald Davis; nieces, June King, Denise Lineberry and Meg Eakes.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
