Judith Griffin Dean

Judith Griffin Dean, 80, of Wilmington, NC passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023. She was born on September 3, 1942 to James Ruffin Griffin and Grace Creech Griffin of Wilmington, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rufus Earl Dean. Judy had a strong love for and a devout faith in God. She loved being outdoors, the beach and tending to her tropical plants. She was a fan of Beach and Motown music and loved to dance. She had a big heart and loved helping others. Judy was feisty and remained strong through her trials and tribulations until God called her home, and is now at peace. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Ratcliff (Tripp Watson) and three sons: Chris Dean (Amy) of Carolina Beach, Tracy Dean of Carolina Beach, Aaron Dean (Suzanne) of Wilmington, NC; seven grandchildren: Trey Ratcliff (Crystal), Wes Ratcliff, Taylor Ratcliff (Kali), Megan Dean, Chase Dean, Tyler Dean and Lauren Dean; seven great-grandchildren; her sister Linda Godrey (Neil) of Whispering Pines, NC and two brothers: Jimmy Griffin and Ronnie Griffin both of Wilmington, NC; beloved sister-in-law, Gerlie Costin (Rickey) and numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to express our gratitude to all those who helped comfort and support us through this difficult time. The Funeral Service will be held at 2PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Coble Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friend’s one hour prior to the service.
