Judith L. Suggs Brooks

Judith L. Suggs Brooks received her angel wings on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. She is the daughter of Eugenia Suggs of Charleston, SC and the late William J. Suggs. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lawrence O. Brooks; son, Dewitt "Tim" Elliott, IV, both of Wilmington; two daughters, Sherrie C. Brooks of Wilmington, and Terrie D. Brooks of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Doris Walker of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Debbie Wilkins (Rick) of Goose Creek, SC; her sister-in-Christ, Wanda Thompson of Wilmington; and six nieces. Judy graduated from Sumter High School in Sumter, SC. She worked for the federal government, Berkley County School District in South Carolina and New Hanover County Schools Board of Education in Wilmington. Judy had a love of dance (especially shagging and shag contests), crafts of all kinds, spoiling her granddogs and cat and most of all enjoyed time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Friday, March 14, 2014, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 12pm Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Jim Snider officiating.
