Katherine Evans

She was born February 5, 1952 to Norman Eldridge Hudson Jr. and Hazel Brown Hudson Stroud, who both preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Leo K. Stroud.

She is survived by her daughters: Lara Evans Smith of Wilmington and Laney Evans Engay (Ed) of California; her sisters, Janice Dixon (Tom) of Wilmington, Terri Mann (Andy) of Wilmington, her brother, Randall Eldridge Hudson (Doris Frey) of Hampstead; stepsisters Lea Mansur (E.J.) and family and Kathy Lowe; grandchildren: Robert McCarroll Jr. and Kara Ward of Wilmington, and great-grandchild, Evelyn McCarroll of Wilmington; nephew, Chris Ussery and nieces: Kim Ussery, Gabrielle Hudson, and Anna Mann and her beloved friend Carol Jernigan, who has always been by her side.

Kathy was retired from BB&T Insurance after 20 years of service.

Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home with Father Dan Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
