Kathleen Mary Caprio Crawford

She was born in Akron, NY, on July 6, 1932, daughter of the late Marshall Caprio and Rose Perfetto Caprio.

While living overseas, Mrs. Crawford had been employed with Northrup at the airport in Dhahran, Saudia Arabia. She also spent time as a volunteer at the Millard Filmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville, NC. Upon retiring to Hampstead in 1986, the Crawfords established Pleasant Air, Inc. Heating and Air Conditioning. She kept the books and the business is still presently in operation today. Mrs. Crawford and her husband became charter members of Lutheran Church of Reconciliation. She was a member and past president of the Hampstead Garden Club, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed RVing with her husband.

Surviving is her husband, Laurence Eugene Crawford; son, Bryant Crawford (Nan); daughter, Marianne Erlewine; grandchildren, David Crawford (Marissa), Brenda Williamson, Cherie Sheahan (John), Jeremy Erlewine (Mollie Lea), Melissa Batts (Adam), Kristen Thacker (Larry), and Jennifer Terry (Patrick); great-grandchildren, Tyler Austin Crawford, Blake Adam Batts, Emily Rose Batts, Reed Michael Williamson, Allie Kate Batts, Addison Marie Crawford, Grady Wayne Thacker, Cole David Crawford, Nolan Shane Thacker, Jonah James Thacker, Gerald Batts, Angel Batts, Joshua Batts, Hazel Sea Erlewine, Regan Terry, and Lila Terry; also a sister, Philomena Caprio.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, March 10, 2017, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Lutheran Church of Reconciliation, 7500 Market Street, Wilmington, NC, with Pastor Bill Milholland officiating.

Interment will be at 2:00 pm Saturday at Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Lutheran Church of Reconciliation, or the Humane Society.
