She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and was a former school teacher. She later worked as an office manager in her husband’s medical office. She is a life member of the Christian Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Stephen Collins, and is survived by a son, Dr. Samuel Collins (Katie), a daughter, Roseanna Collins Horne (Steve) and five grandchildren, Rachel Kathryn Collins, James Alexander Collins, Caroline Collins Horne, Sophia Ruth Collins and Foster Graham Collins, all of Wilmington, N.C.
There will be a graveside service on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Oleander Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice, lifecare.org
