Born May 11, 1933 in Wilmington, he is the son of William Joseph Bradshaw and Mary Catherine Lotzbach Bradshaw.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Helen Jean Bradshaw; his son, Leonard J. Bradshaw, Jr.; his daughters, Helen Haggins and Catherine Bradshaw; and his grandchildren, Nikolai and Miranda Dixon.
Mr. Bradshaw was a painter by trade. Having worked at several hotels and industrial plants in the Wilmington area, he retired from the Blockade Runner. OJ, as he was playfully known by, was admired by many of his coworkers and remained in close contact until the end. He will be remembered for his brand of humor and his generosity,especially by the multitude of neighborhood kids needing a ride to and from the skating rink or mall.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
