

He was born in New York on September 4, 1930 to the late Aldrich and Mildred Klvana. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Klvana and one sister, Adelaide Sylvester.
Les is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan Klvana ; two sons, Tim Klvana (Elizabeth) and Michael Klvana(Joy); one daughter, Cynthia Klvana Morphy (David); two sisters, Geraldine Born and Dolores Cronin; two brothers, Bernard and Philip Klvana; and seven beloved grandchildren, David and Andrew Klvana, Zak and Zoe Klvana, and Emily, Matthew and Michael Morphy.
He was a Husband, Father, and devoted Grandfather. He lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed boat building, teaching, acting, Tai Chi, golfing, bonsai, cooking, and reading. He was a devoted sports and Washington Redskins fan to the end. Above all, nothing was more important to him than spending time with his family.
Les proudly served our country that he loved, in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star with the “V” device, two Purple Hearts and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He served 22 years as a Sergeant with the New York City Police Department. He was a member of the Cape Fear Military order of the Purple Heart, and Collabergh-Radium #859 Masonic Lodge in Croton-on-Hudson, NY.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Marks Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m. at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service.
