

Lidde “Mae” King, 94, owner of Faircloth’s Seafood Restaurant from 1945 -1981, passed away peacefully, at home with loved ones on Monday, February 28, 2022. She was born on June 25, 1927 and graduated from NHHS. She loved her family deeply.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clyde O. King; mother Gertrude “Faircloth” Ellington; father Artie Faircloth; son Clyde Ronald “Ronnie” King; daughter Joyce Marie King and granddaughter, Holly Denise Herring.
She is survived by her daughters Nancy “Diane” King-Norris (Carl Norris) and Sharon Lynn “King” O’Dell (Lynn O’Dell); grandsons: David Botsko, Stephen King, Jason King and Tracy King ; granddaughters: Wendy Herring, Misty Herring (Kelli Herring); 6 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Mae was the owner of a well-loved and well-renowned restaurant in Wrightsville Beach, NC. Her devoted and loyal customers of the surrounding area were her achievements. The locals have never stopped reminiscing the memories. It was an honor to be mentioned in the Redbook Magazine as a hotspot to eat. Mae and Clyde were loyal and loving, long-time members of Long Leaf Baptist Church. She also loved her Arts and Crafts at the Community Center, where she met her best friend Josie Simmons. She was a Sunday School Class Treasurer and loved her church trips. She also loved her Seagate Extension Group trips and seeing Niagra Falls with her friends.
Mae wished to live to be her Mother’s age of 93 and Mae surpassed it at age 94.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 5, 2022, with Dr. Ken Rivenbark officiating at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will hold a visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:00am.
