Linda F. Heath, 66, of Hampstead, passed peacefully from earthly life to her heavenly home on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center from complications of cancer. Linda was born May 6, 1947 in Wilson, NC to the late Selby Carlton Moore and Ruby Barnes Moore. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Sidney (Buddy) Heath, whom she married November 18, 1967; one precious son, Christopher Heath of Hampstead; one grandson who she truly adored, Austin Reid Heath; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Firetti. Linda is also survived by one brother, Larry Moore, and wife, Ann Moore, of Pinetops, NC, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart. Linda's sweet spirit was apparent to anyone she came in contact with. She always put others before herself and was such a special lady. Linda was an example of how to live a life of love and laughter while always putting family above anything else. She was a gift to this world and was loved by everyone who knew her. Linda was a loving wife of 45½ years and a wonderful mother. As a wife and mother, she was attentive and loving, always supporting, encouraging, and providing a home filled with love and laughter. As a grandmother, Linda showered her love on the apple of her eye, her grandson Reid. She loved him with all of her heart and gave him love, compassion, kindness, joy and laughter, as well as spoiling him as only a grandmother can. Linda was always fun and adventurous, and served as Reid's playmate, his shopping buddy, his basketball opponent, his baseball catcher and his number one supporter of everything he attempted to accomplish. Linda was a very humble, caring lady who loved everyone she came in contact with. She was a true blessing in the lives of all of her friends and family, and all who knew her. Even after her cancer diagnosis in April, she faced her challenges with strength and dignity. She fought bravely with everything that was in her to be able to spend more time with her earthly family. However, it was God's plan to call her home where we will see her again one day. Linda leaves behind a legacy of gentleness, love, and compassion and will be missed by all who knew her. They will cling to her memory and cherish the time they had with her. Her family is grateful for all of the acts of kindness and prayers that have lent them support during her illness and throughout their time of learning to live without their precious Linda. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Andrews Hampstead Chapel in Hampstead, NC with the Rev. Rob Strickland officiating, with interment following the service at Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead. Casketbearers will be Tim Heath, Tad Heath, Stillman Heath, Ron Pecore, Keith Baltezegar, and Jimmy Watson. The family will receive friends before the funeral service on Wednesday from 11:00 to 1:00 at Andrews Hampstead Chapel in Hampstead. Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
