Margaret was born January 1, 1923 in Lattimore, Cleveland County, NC, the daughter of the late Foster Yates Jones and Ada Green Jones.
Margaret was proud of her Southern Heritage. She was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
She was a member of St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church. On November 11, 1944, she married Claude H. Blanton, Jr. who preceded her in death October 11, 2016. At the time of his death they had been married 72 years.
She is survived by a son, Claude H. Blanton, III and wife, Joy, of Wake Forest, NC; daughter, Susan B. Joyner and husband, Gilbert, of Wilmington, NC; two grandsons, Matthew Joyner and wife, Tracey, of Durham, NC, and Andrew Joyner and wife Montarie of Rockingham, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Jesse Andrew Joyner and Olivia Katherine Joyner
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 19, 2024, at St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
