Marie Labbree Sammons Winkler

She was born May 21, 1930 in Gloucester City, NJ to her parents William and Margaret Labbree.  She grew up with her brother Bill (deceased) along with many cousins.

She married Leonard Sammons (deceased) in 1951 and had three sons Scott (Elaine), Kurt (deceased) and Todd (Pam).  Having lived in Glassboro, NJ for 25 years her family moved to Wilmington, NC with DuPont.

She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  Marie never met a stranger and her infectious laugh always lifted spirits. She always enjoyed her family, music and dancing.

After being widowed for 30 years she found love again when she married Bob Winkler in 2007 and also gained a stepson Jim Winkler.  Inseparable until the end they traveled the country and were always seen around town at Pine Valley United Methodist Church and restaurants. 

Marie's family would like to thank Robert E. Winkler for all the love, support and joy he gave Marie during her struggle over the last several years.

A visitation will be held from 2-4PM on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd.  Her funeral service will be held at 1PM on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
