She was born November 13, 1918, in Little River, SC, to the late Joseph Cooper and Flora Stanley Cooper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, James Steele Williams, Sr. and Dallas Granger Holmes and brothers, J. Warwick Cooper and Joseph Norman Cooper.
Survivors include her children, James Steele Williams, Jr. and wife Georgia, Joseph Norman Williams and wife Margie, Thomas Delos Williams and wife Nancy, Mary Ann Riley and husband Marvin and Charles Alvin Williams and companion Sandra Wood; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at Andrews Market Street Chapel with Pastor Arnold Griffin officiating.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Skip Skipper, Bryant Riley, Larry Huffstickler, Dallas Williams, Jr., James Steele Williams III and William Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Davidson and Charlie Williams, Jr.
Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, 520 N. 15th Street, Wilmington, NC.
