Mick, “Mickey” lived a full and adventurous life and after a very short battle with cancer, he went home to his Heavenly Father on November 16th. Born in North Carolina, he loved his family, the beach, music, and was a loyal friend to many. He moved to the west coast and settled down in Southern California with his first wife Leslie and his daughter Jamie. After several years, he moved back to the east coast where he met his second wife Sue and started a long career in the airline industry where he worked as a baggage handler for the ground crew with US Airways. That job took him to Tampa, Florida where he resided for several years with his third wife Cathy. He ended up working for the County in public works, from which he later retired. The latter part of his life was spent back in North Carolina where he spent time with his sister Pat and his longtime girlfriend Terry. He was actively involved in church, playing music and often sharing scripture with others. Mickey’s humor and heart of gold will be missed by so many.
A Graveside Service will be held in February of 2024 at Oleander Memorial Gardens. The date and time of service will be updated upon confirmation with the family.
