Mary Pauline Ward Everett (know as "Gangee" by her grandchildren) of Fair Bluff, NC went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26, 2021. She was a member of Porter Swamp Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo, NC. She loved the Lord and her family and church family very much.
She was born on November 9, 1918 in Ash, NC and the daughter of the late Rosa Ella Bennett Ward & John Butler Ward Sr., and Lennie Ward (step-mother).
Mary Pauline married Robert William Everett on December 24, 1937 & was married for over 52 years before he preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by a daughter Carol Everett Dawson, two sons Robert L. Everett, Sr. & Ward Everett & two grandchildren, Trina J. Everett & Robert L. Everett, Jr. three brothers, John Butler Ward, Jr, Dr. Benjamin Brooks Ward, Willie Ward and one sister Muriel Bennett.
She is survived by her daughter Sue Everett Hines (Larry) of Wilmington NC, a special "daughter" in-law, Sandra J. Everett of Fair Bluff NC. a sister Mae Brooks of Oakboro, NC.
Mary Pauline was blessed with 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren who called her “Gangee”.
After retiring from The Timmie Corp. in Wilmington NC she was an AVON Representive for over 20 years.
Funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Tim Moore at Porter Swamp Baptist Church 8975 Andrew Jackson Hwy. SW, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430 on Saturday May 1, 2021 at 1PM with visitation at 12PM. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park 1311 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC.
Pallbearers are David and Brandon Newberry, Austin and Bryce Pettit, Parker Davis, Ben Freeman. Honorary Pallbearers are Liston Pettit and T.J. Freeman.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Trailor, Mama’s nurse Alisia Bryan and her aid Annie Snowten and the other team members who helped from Community Hospice of Whiteville for all their support and care during Mama’s illness. We were truly blessed to have had you through this journey. We love you all.
