
HE TOUCHED THE LIVES AND HEARTS OF ALL WHO KNEW HIM Phillip Clarence Shingleton Sr. of Hampstead died Thursday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born December 13, 1944 in Wilmington, NC and was preceded in death by his mother Cora Lee Shingleton. Mr. Shingleton was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Hampstead Ward. Survived by his wife Karen Shingleton, son, Phillip Clarence Shingleton Jr. of Hampstead, brothers and sisters, Judy Perkins of San Jose, CA, Ray Smith of Rossville, GA, Jane Downey of Walnut Grove MO, Marvin Smith of Chico, CA, Cathy Reynolds of Rocky Point, NC, Christine Yosh of Salida, CA, Melissa Fink of Thousand Oaks, CA, Ronald Smith of Oroville, CA and Donna Smith of Sacramento CA. Aunts, Ruby Trudeau of Chicago, IL, Carol Tucker of Hampstead and Uncle, Henry Shingleton of Hampstead, 6 nieces, 13 nephews, numerous cousins and extended family. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday March 4, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint’s Hampstead Ward. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 pm to 8 pm Monday, March 3, 2008 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel. A memorial fund has been set up the Carolina First bank of Hampstead.
