

Rebecca (Becky) Haynes Morvil, 82, passed away on September 15, 2014, in Wilmington, NC. Becky was born October 15, 1931 in Raleigh, NC, the daughter of the late Alfred M. and Sarah Womble Haynes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Alan Haynes Morvil (September 13, 2002), her sister Adelaide Haynes, and her brother Alfred M. Haynes, Jr. (July 2014). Becky graduated from Meredith College in 1954 with a degree in elementary education, and taught elementary school in High Point, NC and Miami, FL. She was a great-granddaughter of Chang Bunker, who with his brother Eng were the world-famous, original Siamese twins. Chang and Eng married sisters Sarah and Adelaide Yates, and together the couples raised 21 children in Mt. Airy, NC. Becky is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Morvil; her daughter Amy S. Walden and husband Burt; her son Jeff Morvil and wife April; grandchildren Vance, Jonah, Gabriel, David, Sophie and Isabelle of Wilmington NC; and grandson Cody N. Jones of Flower Mound, TX. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Geri Haynes of Wilmington, NC, and Chase Haynes of Mt. Airy, NC. Visitation will be held on Friday Sept. 19 from 7 PM to 9 PM at Andrews Mortuary at 4108 S. College Road in Wilmington, NC. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington NC or a favorite children's charity.
