

Rick Fowler, 53, of Leland, NC, passes away Friday, April 17, 2009. He was born in Raleigh, NC, on February 21, 1956, the son of Evelyn Hunter Fowler and the late William H. Fowler. Rick was an avid outdoorsman and bear hunter and was a long time member of the Black River Hunt Club. He was a loyal employee for over thirty-five years for Pepsi Co. where he was a warehouse manager. Rick loved to cook and spent much of his time catering Pig Pickin's. Rick was loved by all who knew him. He was such a glorious light in all our lives. He will live in all our hearts forever. Surviving in addition to his mother is his devoted and loving wife, Heidi Fowler who was the love of his life; three children, Traci DeBose and husband Melvin, Jeff Fowler and Raven, and Jentry Fowler; one brother who was his best friend, Eddie Fowler; three sisters, Patricia Fowler, Sandra Hamel and Belinda Hammonds; grandchildren, Fowler and Austin DeBose and Trenton Fowler; many nieces and nephews including two special nephews, Joey Fowler and wife Tammy and Jamie Fowler and wife Kim; stepchildren, Brian Pinkham and wife Jocelyn, Jason Pinkham, and Sarah Wrangham and husband Travis; step grandchildren, Emma Wrangham and Chloe Pinkham. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, April 20, 2009 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel by Rev. Ken Sarvis. Everyone is invited to a celebration of Rick's life, which will follow at Rick and Heidi's residence beginning at 4:00 pm Tuesday. Memorials may be made in Rick's name to the charity of one's choice.
