Robert Cecil "Bobby" Gay

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas Gay and Ola Mae Eason Gay; his first wife Delores Tyson Gay; three brothers, Thomas, Earl and Paul, and two sisters, Teresa Gay Carlton and Louise Gay Page; and a son-in-law, Hugh Jernigan.

Bobby was survived by his beloved wife Betty Harrelson Gay; two brothers, Lenwood Gay and Gene Gay; two very special sister-in-law’s, Bonnie Lapsansky and Lois Gay, his loving daughter’s, Carol Gay Jernigan, Kimberly Michael, Wanda Martin (Jesse Martin) and Heidi Bennett (Harry Bennett); and a special nephew that he raised as his son, Joe Tyson. He was surrounded with the love of his 17 grand children, 12 great-grand children as well as numerous extended family members, and Carrie Simmons, a grand-daughter that provided constant, loving care until he went to meet His Lord and Savior.

Bobby served in the United States Army.

Pall Bearers: Larry Clewis, Wesley Clewis, Buddy Hannel, Jeremy Hannel, Joey Simmons and Chris Mclean.

Honorary Pall Bearers: LCpl Collin Bennett, Conner Bennett and Lester Ikner.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Coble Ward-Smith. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Coble Ward-Smith with Reverend Billy Batten and Reverend Donnie Lovette officiating. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery.
