Robert Gregory Holley

Robert Gregory (Greg) Holley died on May 28, 2023, from a stroke.  He was the husband for 46 years of Julia S. Worth of the home.  He is also survived by two sons, Jonathan Worth Holley and his wife Louise of Houston, TX, and Benjamin Worth Holley of Richardson, TX, one granddaughter Cora Jane Holley of Houston, and one sister, Sandra H. Weber, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio.

Mr. Holley was born in 1951 in Milton, WV, to Robert Lee Holley and Wanda Cummings Holley.  He graduated from Marshall University and served in the Air National Guard in West Virginia and North Carolina.  He was employed for most of his career in financial management for Ingersoll-Rand in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas.  He was a CPA in North Carolina.

Greg was a loving husband and father, an avid fisherman, and a creative linguist.  He had a dry wit and always asked politely for more hot sauce.     

On Thursday, June 1, a graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery at 10:00 AM, followed at 11:00 by a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, Wilmington, NC, with reception afterwards in Gilmour Hall.   

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, First Presbyterian Church, or Trout Unlimited.
