He was born June 18, 1936, in Wilmington, to the late Glenn Alexander Sutton and Juanita Johnson Sutton.
Roy was a lifetime member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Wilmington. He served in the National Guard and was a member of The Masons, Shriners, and Elks club. Roy retired from White’s Tire and Fountain Tire in Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Sutton and brothers, Carl Sutton, Jake Sutton and Bobby Sutton.
Survivors include his sons, Drew Sutton and Jeff Sutton; niece, Peggy Sutton Wilkes; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10am, Friday, August 4, 2023, at Andrews Market Street Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
