She was born in Duplin County, NC on February 4, 1928 to L. H. Whitfield and Carrie Stroud Whitfield.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Marshal King Malpass; sisters, Helen Jones, Myra Summerlin, Annie Ruth Best, Margie Hardin; brothers, Russell Whitfield, Louis Whitfield.
She is survived by a sister, Frances Herche, and two brothers, Bill Whitfield and wife Shelby and Andy Whitfield and wife Judy.
A Visitation will be held at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel, on Tuesday October 26, 2021 from 1-2pm.
A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm officiated by Pastor Billy Fowler. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, 9332 Highway 117N, Watha, NC.
