Steve Jones

Samuel Steven “Steve” Jones of Hampstead, NC passed on Friday, January 17, 2020, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Born January 20, 1951, Steve was the youngest of four children of the late Samuel Abner and Louise Bundy Jones. Steve was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Ann Frederick.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Patti Satira Jones, his daughters, Jae Lyn Jones and Caroline Zimmerman.  Steve also has three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.    He is also survived by his sisters, Vicki J. Cooper (Donald) and Bundy J. Henderson (Winston), his brother-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Frederick and many nieces and nephews.

Steve meant the world to Patti’s Mom, Dolly Satira, Patti’s brothers and sisters and all of his nieces and nephews.

He was employed by System One out of Pittsburgh, PA where he worked as an Operations Manager and he was also a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War.

Steve always enjoyed golfing with friends and spending time with his family.  He was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneer Football fan and always enjoyed a good oyster roast.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Anchor Baptist Church, 300 Futch Creek Road, Wilmington, NC 28411. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
