Theresa Harris

Theresa is predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Leach, as well as her brother in-law Robert McMahon.

She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 54 years, William T Harris, along with her five children, Christine Metzler (John), Punta Gorda, FL, Keith Harris (Faith), Selden, NY, David W Harris (Noelle), Holly Ridge, NC, Colleen Reyes (Damien), Holly Ridge, NC and Danielle Hayes (Matthew), Sneads Ferry, NC; two sisters Anita McMahon of New Port Richey, FL and Dolores Burke (Thomas), Bothell, WA, three brothers, William Leach (Cathy), Cuyahoga Falls, OH, James Leach (Rosie), Central Islip, NY and John Leach (Laura), Central Islip, NY.

She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, Morgan, Katelyn and Ryan Metzler of FL; Christopher Craig of NY, Tyler and Alex Harris, Ella and Roman Harris, Xavier and McKinley Reyes, Adeline and Avaleigh Hayes, all of NC. In addition, she is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, family, and friends around the world.

Terri was a dedicated homemaker who loved spending time with her family. Her greatest source of joy was building a beautiful life with Bill and together watching their children as well as grandchildren thrive in their daily lives. She strived to provide a loving and supportive environment to all. Sundays were her favorite day of the week knowing that her family would come together for church and Sunday brunch. Not only was Terri devoted to her family, but she was devoted to God. She grew up going to private school and attending mass with her family at Saint John of God in Central Islip, NY. Here in North Carolina, Terri belonged to All Saints Catholic Church and was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters. 

Terri and Bill were the most caring and faithful couple, who brought out only the best in each other. Bill was not only an incredible husband, but an amazing caregiver to his beloved wife. 

A viewing will be held at Andrews Funeral Home in Hampstead, NC on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 3 to 5 pm.

A funeral mass will be offered at All Saints Catholic Church in Hampstead, NC on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11 am. 

In lieu of flowers: mom wished for memorial donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

In her departure to the heavens, we pray for Terri “Ar dheis de go raibh a hanam” meaning “May her soul be seated on God’s right hand” an old Irish saying.
