Velma Ruth Roberts Sawchuk, 90, of Dickinson, North Dakota, Wilmington, NC, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Velma was born on May 28, 1934, in Cowen, WV, the daughter of the late Fred and Irene Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Dr. Andrew (Constantine)Sawchuk of Sawskachen, Canada. Surviving is her son, Dr. Terry C. Sawchuk, and wife, Lisa, and children Nicholas, Marcus, and Peter of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Sawchuk Jones, and husband, Reverend Dr. Jack Jones III, and children, Marquis and Jack. Velma also has a surviving sister, Karen, Thomas Morris, her husband, special nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
