

Vicki Smith Garner Neill, 64, of Leland, NC, died at her home on Monday, May 16, 2011. She was born April 29, 1947 in Greensboro, NC, daughter of the late Luke and Lillian Walters Smith of Carolina Beach, NC. Vicki was a 1965 graduate of New Hanover High School and a longtime employee of Revco. Most currently, she was employed with CDS at Costco and enjoyed her work providing samples at the store. She was a longtime member of the breakfast clubs at the Hardees and McDonalds Restaurants in Leland, and a member of the Grace Point Community Church in Leland. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, and traveling. Vicki loved her church family, her medical family, her work family, and her babies. She wanted everyone to know that Calvin, her husband, was the ""best thing that ever happened to me besides my children."" Vicki is survived by her loving husband of eighteen years, Calvin Neill; her daughter, Tiffany Garner Lyon Tim of El Paso, TX; her sons, Scott Garner Rachel and Ricky Neill Rebecca all of Leland; grandchildren, Brynn Garner and her mother, Andrea Garner, Katie Neill, Bryson Neill, and Brandon Lyon; a sister, Susie Gurganus Bobby of Carolina Beach; brothers, Dennis Smith Kelly of Milledgeville, GA, and Mike Smith Rose of Navarre, FL; sisters-in-law, Ella Wade and Margaret Neill; mother-in-law, Lizzie Neill; nephews, Ryan Gurganus and Christopher Smith; niece, Tessa Smith; and paternal aunt, Ella Graves of Leland. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, NC, and at other times at the family home, 3846 Avondale Drive, Leland, NC. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, with her pastor, Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington. Members of the Brunswick County Fire Department Honor Guard will be serving as pallbearers. The family wishes to offer their special thanks to Dr. Birgit Arb, and Delayne Godwin and staff for all the excellent care, love, and concern shared with Vicki and family members at their time of need.
