Virginia Collins White

Virginia Collins White, of Wilmington and formerly of Rocky Mount, NC died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Brightmore of Wilmington. She was born in Rocky Mount, NC, August 29, 1920 the daughter of the late Fred C. Collins and Nora Small Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Samuel White and her brother Benjie Collins and sister Elizabeth Carson Irabinet. Mrs. White had lived in Rocky Mount her entire life and was a lifelong member and very active at Edgemont Baptist Church. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and was devoted to her family. She is survived by her three sons, Walter E. White and wife Sharon of Wilmington, Phil W. White and wife Linda of New Bern, NC and W. Dennis White of Apollo Beach, FL., five grandchildren, Gina White of Arlington, VA, Gilbert White of New Bern, NC, Gary White of New Bern, NC, Wade White of Raleigh, NC, and Sam White of St. Petersburg, FL, four great grandchildren, and two brothers, Fred Collins of Enfield, NC and Bill Collins of Marion, MI. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, May 28, 2012 at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401 or the Hospice of your choice.
