She was born in Maysville (Jones County), NC, on January 8, 1924, daughter of the late Luther Marion Coston and Laura Missouri Coston. Her husband, Ivy Thompson, Jr. preceded her in death in 1980.
Surviving is her daughter, Barbara Harper of Wilmington; a sister-in-law, Lola Yopp; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Haws Run Primitive Baptist Church in Onslow County.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, NC. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10:00 AM Saturday until the service hour. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery.
